Due to the major flooding event in Hope, BC, the 8AL1 30” Mainline operated by Enbridge was exposed at multiple locations near the Othello Road Crossing, between the east and west-bound lanes of the Coquihalla Highway. OMH was contracted by Enbridge to remove, cut, and cap the exposed pipe sections to accommodate repair and river diversion work completed by MOTI. The project included the permanent installation and replacement of the Mainline from the removed sections to continue operation of the 30” Mainline.

The project scope included:

Removal of caps on the disconnected section and temporary caps on the 30” Mainline.
Installation of approx. 250m of new pipe at KP 84.440.
Installation of approx. 90m of new pipe at KP 85.056.
Installation of pipeline within road crossing at Othello Rd.
Installation of pipeline within the edge of the bank of the river crossing at Coquihalla River.
